Clairemont Scrip Chip Mystery
Recently a San Diego Fire Fighter contacted me about a box of poker chips his son found down in South East San Diego during a house clean out. Both sides of the chips say “Clairemont Scrip Chip”.
If anyone might know the origin or back story on these chips, I would be interested in learning more. I believe I read somewhere at one time there was a Clairemont Hospital, which is now the San Diego Crime Lab on Mt Etna. Maybe they came from there just a wild guess?
In the meantime, if anyone or group has a need I am more than happy to donate them I have a big box full. Maybe churches, schools, senior centers or poker leagues would like to repurpose them.
