Gluten Free and Allergen Expo Coming to Del Mar

As part of its continuing support of the growing gluten-free community, The Gluten Free Media Group will hold its first ever San Diego Gluten Free & Allergen Friendly Expo on February 7th at the Del Mar Fairgrounds- Wyland Center.

The Expo will feature some very special guests:

  • 2Good2B, a local San Diego bakery, will be exhibiting at booth #103. This gourmet gluten, corn and soy-free bakery and café will be sampling their award-wining baked goods, in addition to selling sandwiches, pies, sweets and many other products at their booth.
  • Sauce Goddess, a San Diego local, will be at booth #304 sampling her delicious line of rubs, sauces, condiments and snacks. Sauce Goddess products are created using all natural ingredients, and contain no artificial flavoring, MSG or gluten.
  • Sprouts Farmers Market will be on site at booth #205 to discuss the gluten-free products and resources available to Sprouts customers. According to the retailer’s website, “Whether you have switched to a gluten-free diet by choice or necessity, Sprouts is able to accommodate you with more than 2,500 gluten-free items throughout our stores.”

The Expo will allow attendees to sample hundreds of gluten-free products and try before they buy, in addition to receiving coupons, discounted products available for purchase,informative classes related to the gluten and allergen-free lifestyle, and the chance to meet their favorite food manufacturers, authors, and bloggers.The event attracts the celiac community, those with gluten sensitivities, autoimmune/inflammatory diseases, and autism. Athletes and the health conscious also benefit from the Expo.

All vendors at the Expo are 100% gluten free, and many will also showcase products free from the top eight allergens: milk, egg, peanut, tree nut, fish, shellfish, soy and wheat. The Expo also offers personal care products, vitamins and supplements, and green household cleaning alternatives.

The Expo will also include a dedicated area featuring nut-free products, and special area for gluten-free kids. Allergen-savvy health care practitioners will be available to answer medical questions. Guests can attend free lectures and connect with gluten and allergen-free restaurants, associated non-profits and more.

Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. A one-day ticket is $20 for adults and$5 for children.
