Received a VM from the Detective and the vehicle is in custody found through a Fox 5 viewer who called in an anonymous tip.  Good work by SDPD, Fox 5 as well as the anonymous tipster.

The investigation is still ongoing as to the operator of the vehicle.

9/22/15 UPDATE

Police have identified the vehicle that struck the victim as a dark metallic blue 2005 to 2009 Buick LaCrosse. The car left its passenger side mirror at the scene (photo below) and will most likely have damage to the passenger side front bumper, hood and fender.

This morning (9/17/15) at 7:50 a.m., a female bicyclist was struck by a vehicle and severely injured on 2700 Clairemont Drive, west of Galveston Street. The woman was riding eastbound in the bike lane and was struck by a vehicle traveling in the same direction. The driver of the vehicle did not stop.

Witnesses described the vehicle as being a dark blue, small compact or sub compact car and should have front bumper and hood damage. The passenger side rear view mirror was left at the scene. (See photo of the mirror below)
