Thanksgiving Day Run in Encinitas!
Looking for a fun, family race by the beach this Thanksgiving? Well, search no further! A group of North County community leaders have created the first annual Encinitas 101 Turkey Trot & Food Drive to help benefit the North County Community Services Food Bank.
The 5K/10K race/walk, which will be on Thanksgiving, Nov. 27. It will run along scenic HW Y101 in Encinitas, and is put on by the same organizers who created the popular annual Cardiff Kook run. Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to the Encinitas 101 Turkey Trot, which will also include a costume contest.
A generous portion of the proceeds will go to the North County Community Services Food Bank. The Food Bank’s director Michael Lawson and his small staff and team of volunteers do amazing work! The NCCS Food Bank served 1.5 million meals and 243,338 people in 2013 in North County alone! Race participates are also encouraged to bring a bag of non-perishable food items to donate to the Food Bank.
