Proposed Navy Pipeline Relocation in Clairemont Open House Date set for 3/18/19

The United States Navy is seeking public input from Clairemont residents about a proposed repair relocation of a section of the Miramar Pipeline.

According to a letter dated 27 Feb 2019 drafted by B.W. Dickson, Captain United States Navy Commanding Officer, The Miramar Pipeline is a Navy owned and operated fuel line extending 17 miles from Naval Base Point Loma to Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.  The pipeline built in 1954 provides fuel for ships and aircraft.

The Navy is proposing to relocate two sections of the pipeline for easier access and maintenance to City of San Diego right of way.

One area is located on the current High Tech High Property on Mt Abernathy and the other is located in a residential neighborhood South of Clairemont Mesa Blvd & West of the 805 in the area of Madison High School.

The general public is invited to an open house information session on March 18th from 5-8 pm at Lafayette Elementary School 6125 Printwood Way, SD, 92117
