On Friday, May 23, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., the Mesa College Design Center will host a student exhibition featuring work by students enrolled in the architecture, landscape design and interior design programs. The public is invited to attend free of charge. Interior Design Program awards and graduates will be recognized at 7:00 p.m.
Among the exhibitors are graduates of the Mesa College’s 2014 Architecture Program who have been accepted to four-year programs in some of the state’s top universities. Graduates Karl Kachele, Mahyar Naghsvar, Kieffer Olazo, and Jeremiah Zamora were accepted at UCBerkeley. Berkeley, which has one of the largest and most highly regarded architecture programs in the United States, accepts only about 40 transfer students into the third year of their program. Kachele, Naghsvar, and Zamora, along with Renata Herrera, were accepted to UCLA’s architecture program. UCLA accepts only 24 transfer students per year in architecture.
Other students from the architecture program are transferring to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Cal Poly Pomona, the Illinois Institute of Technology, the Southern California Institute of Architecture, California College of Arts School of Architecture, Woodbury University, and the University of Southern California’s School of Architecture.
