HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE EXPECTED TO ATTEND AND LEARN ABOUT CITY OF SAN DIEGO’S PURE WATER PROGRAM
Several hundred people of all ages are expected at the City of San Diego’s Pure Water Day Open House to tour the Pure Water Demonstration Facility, learn about the program’s projects and enjoy games, food and fun activities.
Visitors will be able to taste the purified water produced at the Demonstration Facility, speak with project engineers about upcoming construction activities and take home a free succulent. The Kid Zone will include an obstacle course, face painting and educational games.
Pure Water San Diego is the City’s phased, multi-year program to provide one-third of San Diego’s water supply locally by 2035. The Pure Water San Diego Program will use proven water purification technology to clean recycled water to produce safe, high-quality drinking water. Construction of the program’s Phase 1 projects, which include new facilities and pipelines, is set to begin later this year.
