San Diego Police and Casa Familiar Team up to Sponsor Gun Exchange

Police Blotter: Clairemont Times

Casa Familiar will team up with San Diego Police Department Chief Shelley Zimmerman and County District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis for a gun exchange at the Casa Familiar Civic Center located at the Southwestern College Higher Education Center at Otay Mesa, 4200 Gigantic Street, San Diego, CA on January 30, 2016 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Gift cards will be offered in exchange for guns. Participants will receive $75.00 for rifles and shotguns, $50.00 for handguns and $100.00 for assault weapons. No questions asked. Casa Familiar, the San Diego Police Department and San Diego District Attorney’s Office are committed to helping reduce the incidents of gun violence in San Diego.

For those interested in participating, all weapons must be operational. Explosives, ammunition or inert devices will not be accepted. Weapons should be transported in a trunk and unloaded. Weapons should also remain in the trunk until it is removed by an officer during the event.
