Phil’s BBQ Point Loma to Temporarily Close for Six Weeks

Phil's BBQ Point Loma

Phil’s BBQ will temporarily close its doors at the Point Loma restaurant January 2, 2019 through mid-February 2019 for a $1.25 million renovation. In light of the temporary closure, Phil’s is launching a “Shutdown Sweepstakes” to encourage customers to instead visit its Santee, San Marcos, and Rancho Bernardo restaurant locations.

Upon reopening, slated for February 11, 2019, the upgrades to the Point Loma restaurant will include an expansion in the dining and bar areas, freshly painted and polished restaurant, the addition of TV screens in the dining room, and more. “One of the factors that’s been key to the success of our restaurant has been our efforts to give our customers the highest quality of service possible, and that includes our facilities,” said Phil’s BBQ owner, Phil Pace. “We’re committed to re-investing in our restaurants to make sure we continually offer guests the best and most up to date dining experience. More than one million customers walk through the Phil’s BBQ Point Loma doors per year – it was time for an upgrade.”

To further thank the Phil’s BBQ community for their patience and preference, the Santee, San Marcos, and Rancho Bernardo restaurants will be offering all-day happy hour within the duration of the Point Loma closure.

During the temporary closure, Phil’s BBQ employees will receive paid time off, depending on employment status, as well as select opportunities to work at the other Phil’s BBQ locations. In addition to the Santee, San Marcos, and Rancho Bernardo restaurants remaining open, Phil’s BBQ Catering and Event Center will also remain open for business.
