The San Diego Police Department is in the process of investigating approximately 10 cases of drug overdoses from a street drug known as “Spice” a synthetic cannabis.  All of the cases had been reported this afternoon within a short period of time in downtown San Diego.

Five adults and five juveniles have suffered mild to serious symptoms after smoking the drug.  The Spice has been sold on the streets of downtown in a black package with blue dragons on the side.

The San Diego Police Department is in the process of tracking down all of the victims and witnesses to these cases to gather additional information.

In the meantime, we want the public to be aware of the situation in the event anyone else has purchased this street drug in the downtown area.
