Drive By Shooting in La Jolla Claims Life of a 20 Year Old Woman

San Diego Police Report

On Sunday, June 23, 2019 at about 12:39 am, the San Diego Police
Department’s Communication Center received a radio call of shot being fired in the area
of 7500 Draper Ave.

Officers arrived on scene a few minutes later and located a 20-year old white female and
a 23 year old black male with gunshot wounds to their upper body. Officers performed
life saving measures on the victims until relieved by San Diego Fire Department
Paramedics. The victims was transported to a local hospital by medics. Unfortunately,
the 20 year old female was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The 23-year old male is
in stable but serious condition.

Two other victims, both 19-year old black males, arrived at diffident hospitals with
gunshot wounds to their upper body. Both victims are in stable condition at this time.
San Diego Police Homicide Detectives were called to the scene to investigate the incident.
Although it is very early in the investigation, we have learned there was a party at a
residence in the 7500 block of Cuvier Street. Patrons of the party were standing near the
east alley of 7500 Cuvier Street. A light colored sedan drove north in the alley and an
occupant from the vehicle fired rounds at the victims. There is no description for the
occupants of the vehicle.

The victim has been identified, but her identity will not be released pending family
notification.
