Carjacking & Robbery in Morena District

Carjacking

A male in his 40’s returned to his parked vehicle in the 1100 block of Morena Boulevard after eating at a near by restaurant. While the victim was in his vehicle he heard a tapping noise on his passenger and driver side window. He saw two black males one at his driver side window and one at his passenger side window. He saw the suspects were pointing handguns at him and ordered him out of the vehicle. The victim exited the vehicle and a third black male ordered him to empty his pockets. The victim refused to do so and stepped away from the vehicle. The three suspect got into the victim’s vehicle and fled in an unknown direction. After a short time National City Police located the vehicle and a pursuit ensued and all three suspects were taken into custody. The suspects were later determined to be juveniles. The San Diego Police Robbery Unit is handling the investigation.

1500 Morena Blvd

Robbery

An unknown suspect robbed the Arco gas station on 1500 Morena Boulevard. The suspect entered the station from W. Morena Blvd wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and a black partial ski mask. He demanded money from the register. The suspect lifted his hoodie showing a black object in his waistband. The cashier wasn’t sure if the object was a knife or gun. The cashier put an unknown amount of money in the suspect’s backpack. The suspect fled southbound on W. Morena Blvd.
