Arrest of the ‘Bolt Bandit’ Announced by San Diego Police

PR:San Diego-On Saturday, November 25, 2017, Robbery detectives from the San Diego Police Department arrested 67 year old Ronald Gregory Perez for a series of three armed robberies and two attempted armed robberies occurring in the Morena and Clairemont Mesa areas of San Diego. The five cases were as follows:

11/14/17 Subway 7710 Balboa Avenue

11/20/17 7-11 126 W. Washington Street

11/22/17 AM/PM 1550 Morena Blvd.

11/25/17 AM/PM 6130 Balboa Avenue

11/25/17 AM/PM 1550 Morena Blvd.

In all five cases, Perez wore dark clothing, including a stocking cap with a lightning bolt emblem. He was dubbed the bolt bandit. Perez was identified following the last case on 11/25/17. He was located in the3900 block of Clairemont Drive and taken into custody. Perez was in possession of evidence linking himto all five cases.
