San Diego Humane Society Waives Adoption Fees for Day of Giving

In honor of its first annual Day of Giving on Thursday, March 10, San Diego Humane Society is encouraging the community to give something extra special to help vulnerable animals: a home.

Now through Sunday, March 13th, the adoption fee is waived for all animals at all San Diego Humane Society locations. Donations will be gratefully accepted to help cover the costs that went into preparing these animals for adoption. All animals have been spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and given current vaccinations.

Last year, San Diego Humane Society cared for more than 16,000 vulnerable animals, with the average care cost per animal being $1,300.

As part of the Getting to Zero initiative and in partnership with the San Diego Animal Welfare Coalition, San Diego Humane Society is committed to maintaining zero euthanasia of healthy and treatable animals in San Diego County.  To maintain this important goal, community support is urgently needed to ensure all homeless animals find the loving homes they deserve.

There are currently more than 600 animals at San Diego Humane Society’s three campuses and neighborhood adoption centers. Animals that are awaiting adoption can be found on the organization’s website: http://www.sdhumane.org/how-you-can-help/adopt/available-pets
