Synopsis:
An armed Transit Security Officer was attacked by a WMA in his thirties who attempted to rob him of his service pistol.
The suspect approached the guard, immediately grabbed his service pistol and violently pulled on it trying to remove it from its holster. The security officer was able to retain his weapon and defend himself with his duty knife. The officer suffered minor injuries due to being punched in the face several times.
The suspect was stabbed in the torso by the security guard during the struggle and ran off in a southbound direction.
The suspect was later located under a bridge nearby. He was taken into custody and treated for his injuries. Western Division Detectives are investigating the incident.
