Greetings fellow Olympians! Nominations are now being accepted for the 2014 Mesa College Distinguished Alumni Award. The purpose of the award program is to recognize former students who have made significant contributions to society, and whose accomplishments, affiliations, and careers have honored the legacy of academic excellence at San Diego Mesa College. This will be a very special award presented during the college’s 50th anniversary year.
The 2014 award recipient will be announced in April and the award will be conferred at the Mesa College commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 17.
Anyone in the greater community is encouraged to submit a nomination and we encourage you to submit a nomination. Please feel free to forward this email on to your alumni lists, or anyone who may have an interest making a nomination, or even nominating themselves!
Nominations are accepted through Friday, March 14. (Note that nominations made in previous years will carry over for consideration for the 2014 award, so you don’t have to resubmit.) For an application and more information (www.sdmesa.edu/alumni). Fillable forms make it easy to nominate someone. The site also offers profiles of our former recipients, including previous winners, including Olympic gold medalist and former coach, Arnie Robinson, artist Miya Hannan and filmmaker Raul Celaya.
