Clairemont Lutheran Church will hold an Evening Prayer and Peace Vigil Thursday, May 2 2019 at 6:30 p.m. The gathering is open to all members of the community, from all backgrounds.

“We will pray for all people harmed because of religious violence, from Sri Lanka to all the way right here in Poway,” said the Rev. Nathaniel Allen, Associate Pastor of Clairemont Lutheran Church.

The gathering will feature a time of scripture, song, prayer and special music as well as a candlelight vigil and time for individual meditation and prayer.

“We just want to encourage the community to set aside time this week to reflect on what each of us can do to help put an end to acts of violence,” said Eddie McCoven, church staff member and musician. “For people of faith, it begins with prayer, meditation and the scriptures and listening for what the Spirit is calling us to do.”

The prayer and peace vigil will be held in the sanctuary building on the church campus at 4271 Clairemont Mesa Blvd, San Diego, CA 92117. All people of all backgrounds are welcome to attend and participate.
