SDPD Investigating Attempted Homicide in North Clairemont

pr:On Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 7:00 p.m., the San Diego Police Department Communication Center received a 911 call regarding a shooting on the 4600 block of Sauk Avenue.

The first police units to arrive found a 52-year Hispanic Male lying on the ground in front of his residence with an apparent gunshot wound to his head. The officers provided medical aid and the victim was transported to a local hospital by paramedics.
The victim is not expected to survive his injuries.
San Diego Police Homicide Detectives were called to the scene and are currently investigating the incident.

The victim has been identified, but his identity will not be released pending family notification. There is currently no suspect information that can be released at this time.
